The third edition of the Global Logistics Convention (GLC) 2019 is scheduled to take place on 29th and 30th August 2019 at the Kigali Convention Center in Kigali – Rwanda. The Global Logistics Convention is an annual freight logistics event of the Federation of East African Freight Forwarders Associations (FEAFFA). This year, the annual convention has the theme; “Logistics; the Engine of Economic Growth and Development”.

The is event is being organized by Rwanda Freight Forwarders Association (RWAFFA) in conjunction with Private Sector Federation and the Ministry of Trade and Industry (MINICOM).

Speaking recently during the FEAFFA Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Panari Hotel in Nairobi, FEAFFA President and chairperson of the GLC 2019 organizing committee Mr. Fred Seka gave details about the upcoming event. “It will be bigger and better than what we have had in the past. This is another opportunity for the us to meet, discuss at length matters affecting the Freight Logistics Industry, learn and share best practices in transport logistics as well as engage with a wide range of stakeholders.” Said Seka.

Over 500 participants from global and regional logistics companies, policy makers, transport and logistics sector regulators are expected to attend. Various activities have been lined up key among them – exhibitions, panel discussions, presentations and a tour of the beautiful country of Rwanda among others. A wide range of seasoned logistics industry speakers from FIATA and other leading logistics organizations speak at this convention.  The President of the Republic of Rwanda H.E Paul Kagame is expected to grace the Convention.

The Convention is held annually with the last two having been held in 2017 in Tanzania and 2018 in Uganda.

FEAFFA is the regional apex body of customs agents and freight forwarders in Eastern Africa. It represents over 2500 firms affiliated to its member national associations. RWAFFA is the member in Rwanda with about 200 customs agents and freight forwarding firms.
