Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) has managed to maintain cargo verification at Inland Container Depot in Nairobi (ICDN) and Container Freight Stations (CFSs) below its target of 20 percent. This positive trend has led to a reduction in time and cost of doing business.
In the month of July, the rate at ICDN stood at 13 percent with that at CFSs recording 13.3 percent. In the month of August, ICDN and CFSs recorded 11 percent and 13.18 percent respectively. In September, the rate stood at 9 percent in the ICDN while at CFSs 12.08 percent was recorded
‘We applaud all stakeholders who continue to uphold their compliance levels as this reduces the verification rates,” a statement by the Commissioner, Customs & Border Control read in part.
