The Uganda, Rwanda row continues following the closure of Katuna Border by Rwandan authorities. This decision is wreaking havoc on both Rwandans and Ugandans. Statistics estimate that Uganda has so far lost over UGX 10 Billion within the first 5 days of the impasse.
Among the said borders include Katuna where most traders have been transacting their businesses.
More details indicate that closing the borders has affected Rwanda mostly because most of their goods pass through Uganda from Mombasa. Apparently, Rwanda imports a big percentage (14%) of consumer goods from Uganda, compared to other countries in the world.
Rwanda imports 13% of consumer goods from Kenya, 10% from China, 7% from India, 5% from USA and 2% from France
