The operation of East African ports to GDP grew between 2013 and 2017

According to the Dynamar’s East and Southern Africa Container Trades 2019 report, East African ports have reported improved earning for the period 2013 to 2017. The report indicates that EAC ports’ contribution to GDP rose from 34 per cent in 2013 to 40 per cent in 2017.

In comparison, the southern African counterparts, however, recorded a 5 per cent drop from $367 billion to $349 billion over the same period.
