Siginon Aviation Engages global IT System to improve efficiency

Kale, a trusted global IT Logistics partner for Fortune 500 companies will digitize the entire air cargo handling operations at the two airports with GALAXY- a web-based Airport Cargo Management System it operates globally.

Siginon Aviation has partnered with Kale Logistics Solutions to provide a comprehensive air cargo management system for its operations at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA) in Nairobi and Eldoret International Airport in a bid to offer seamless services.

Kale, a trusted global IT Logistics partner for Fortune 500 companies will digitize the entire air cargo handling operations at the two airports with GALAXY- a web-based Airport Cargo Management System it operates globally.

Siginon Aviation was incepted in 1997 and offers air, ground and ramp handling and is one of the 4 licensed ground handlers in Kenya. The Groundhandler is IATA Safety Audit for Ground Operators (ISAGO) certified and currently handles multiple global and regional freighters.

GALAXY is a highly rated cargo handling system comprehensively covering operations for import, export and transit. It incorporates several next generation features, which help cargo ground handlers to shift from legacy monolithic systems towards a futureproof system. With GALAXY, users can experience complete automation, clear visibility, control, collaboration, personalization and seamless integration within the stakeholder’s network.

“Our commitment to our customers is to consistently offer services that are in tandem with the evolving needs in the ground handling industry, we selected GALAXY for its ability to offer a robust system that ensures our airline customers’ needs are met proactively and effectively,” Meshack Kipturgo, Managing Director at Siginon Group said when the two firms signed the deal.

The system incorporates many next generation features like Mobile App, Customer Portal, Hand-held based app and EDI with Airlines. With GALAXY, users can experience complete automation, clear visibility, control, collaboration and seamless integration within the stakeholder network. It is used in more than 80 airports in Europe, Middle East, Africa, and India.

“For us, GALAXY will provide good business intelligence and visibility, multiple data entry, ensures achievement of airline Service Level Agreements (SLAs), 100% process automation, support for Siginon’s digital strategy, proactive messaging to customers post departure, and financial integrations to Siginon’s systems amongst others benefits,” Kipturgo said.

Speaking during the launch,  Mr. Vineet Malhotra, Director at Kale Logistics Solutions said that the GALAXY is a game changer in the airfreight industry.
